Jimmy Kimmel hosted the Oscars and he was just awful. Everything was anti-Trump. He implied Trump wanted black slaves, he said that it should be the job of Hollywood to upset Mike Pence and more. And not surprisingly, Kimmel’s Oscars were one of the lowest rated in years.
President Trump took to Twitter to rub it in Kimmel’s face. “Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!” tweeted President Trump. “Thanks, lowest rated President in HISTORY,” responded Kimmel.
Of course, Kimmel knows that isn’t true. The mainstream media might claim that Trump is doing badly. But they also claimed Trump would get crushed by Hillary Clinton. They are not very reliable. Kimmel however, wouldn’t let it go. He spent a lot of time on his show talking about Trump’s tweet and coming up with excuses for his bad ratings.
“The truth is, every year since Netflix happened, the ratings are down for every big TV show: the Super Bowl, the Grammys, the Emmys, the Golden Globes,” said Kimmel. Although this isn’t true. The viewers on the Oscars improved from 2013 to 2014 even though Netflix began in 2008.
“Since I was the host of the Oscars, I felt like it was incumbent on me to respond [to Trump]. So I tweeted to him … [and] wanted to point out that my tweet got more than twice as many ‘likes’ as his tweet,” bragged Kimmel. Still doesn’t help his bad ratings.
