Chuck Schumer, the Democrat Senate Minority Leader said that Democrat Party can only blame themselves and not Russia, for Hillary Clinton’s loss to President Donald Trump last November.
Schumer told The Washington Post, “When you lose to somebody who has 40 percent popularity, you don’t blame other things like Comey, Russia, you blame yourself,”
Schumer said the Democratic Party’s campaign message heading into 2018 makes people not sure what the party stands for.
Schumer explained, “So what did we do wrong? People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump. And still believe that.”
The Democratic Party’s plan for 2018 is called “A Better Deal” and is meant to contrast the president’s economic message.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, actually agreed with Schumer, telling the Washington Post in an interview, that the new slogan was not part of a course correction, but rather a “presentation correction.”
In fighting within the Democrat part has seen rust belt vs coastal arguing over the future of the Democratic Party.
