President Obama surrounded himself with party loyalists so it’s not really a surprise that former Department of Homeland Security head Jeh Johnson stuck with the debunked story that Russia hacked the US Election.
Fortunately Trey Gowdy wasn’t buying into any of it and confronted him about the alleged DNC hacking claims.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Johnson said that to his “disappointment,” the DNC did not cooperate with the DHS in their investigation into the hackings. He also said that the DNC refused help from he DHS following the Russian hacks into its computer systems during the 2016 election cycle.
Johnson also said that he only became aware of intrusions into DNC systems last fall, months after the FBI knew about them. Needless to say, Gowdy found this odd, and he didn’t stay quiet about it.
“If they had turned the server over to either you or Director Comey, maybe we would have known more and maybe there would have been more for you to report,” Gowdy said. “So I guess what I’m asking you is, why would the victim of a crime not turn over a server to the Intelligence community or to law enforcement?”
“Uh, I’m not going to argue with you, sir. Uh, that was a leading question and I’ll agree to be led,” Johnson replied, obviously frazzled.
