President Trump launch another Twitter tirade Tuesday morning in an attack on news media outlets like CNN for spreading an “agenda of hate.”
Trump slammed “dirty journalists” for spreading ‘incorrect stories and phony sources’ in their war against him as rumors spread that he might fire Robert Muelle, the prosecutor DOJ appointed to take over the Russian investigation.
“The Fake News Media has never been so wrong or so dirty. Purposely incorrect stories and phony sources to meet their agenda of hate. Sad!” Trump wrote.
“Fake News is at an all time high. Where is their apology to me for all of the incorrect stories???” Trump later tweeted.
Earlier Newsmax CEO and Trump friend Chris Ruddy went on PBC on Monday to claim that is “considering perhaps” a termination of Robert Mueller, who’s acting as special counsel at the Department of Justice. Though Ruddy never said whether or not Trump told him this personally, the mainstream media chose to take it that way and run with it.
“Mr. Ruddy never spoke to the President regarding this issue. With respect to this subject, only the President or his attorneys are authorized to comment,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said.
Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders added that, “Chris speaks for himself.”
