House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sat down for an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper last night when he asked her who exactly is leading the Democratic party right now.
Pelosi looked confused then went on to mention Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton being their most recent leaders before pointing to the “leaders in Congress” and the Democratic governors across the country.
She forgot to mention Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez.
Cooper then goes on to point out that the Democrats suffered huge losses across the country under Obama, but Pelosi said, “We have a plan to address that.”
“Well, President Obama was the president of the United States until just a matter of weeks ago. I don’t think that he can be dismissed as the leader of the Democratic Party,” the California Democrat answered. “Hillary Clinton did not win the election, but a respected leader.”
“We have leaders for all different aspects of it. The Democratic Party is a congressional party, and we have members in Congress. It is a gubernatorial party.”
Pelosi shot back that they have a plan to deal with the historic loses on the state level that happened under the ‘leadership’ of Barack Obama.
Then Cooper pushed her on who was the “standard bearer” of the party, she says, “Well we’re not in a Presidential time.”
Sound like the Dems are in worse shape that we thought!
