The Department of Homeland Security released a statement saying that they will continue to “enforce all of the president’s executive orders in a manner that ensures the safety and security of the American people.”
According to the DHS, this will not influence the entire enforcement of the order and will exclude the small number of travelers already affected by it.
“The president’s executive orders remain in place—prohibited travel will remain prohibited, and the U.S. government retains its right to revoke visas at any time if required for national security or public safety,” the statement said.
On Sunday, it was stated that this order shall prevent America from deporting people from travel ban listed nations.
Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to the White House, said, “Nothing in the Brooklyn judge’s order in anyway impedes or prevents the implementation of the president’s executive order which remains in full, complete and total effect.”
Additionally, U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly released the order in NYC urgently, after a petition from lawyers for the American Civil Liberties Union was filed in the name of people from seven Muslim countries, who were detained at several airports.
This order applies to people coming from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. However, people with valid visa or approved refugee application were cleared during the process.
The DHS claims the order is the “first step towards reestablishing control over America’s borders and national security.”
This decision, brought by Donald Trump, has been welcomed with mass protests at airports across America.
Although it was initially stated that people who have green cards, but were not currently on American soil would not be let to return, this was dismissed by the DHS on Saturday as false information.
This idea and order comes from trump’s plan to eradicate “radical Islamic terrorists” from stepping onto American territory. The order was composed for a 90-day travel ban for citizens from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen.
Donald Trump’s security measures and ideas have motivated some Republican lawmakers to work even harder to protect this country accordingly.
As per the DHS, they “will faithfully execute the immigration laws, and we will treat all of those we encounter humanely and with professionalism.”
America has to become safer fro everyone who live in it and Trump is on a good track of doing so.
