TMZ caught up with actor Jon Voight who went on a rant about Hollywood celebrities who are working to “de-legitimize” President Trump by rioting during his inauguration, labeling the behavior of his fellow Hollywood colleagues “treasonous.”
“It’s been very serious and very destructive, this marching against the government and against the president,” said Voight for TMZ in Beverly Hills on Tuesday. “It’s very, very serious.”
Voight was asked if the demonstrations were an example of what freedom of speech and the First Amendment is all about.
“It is what the First Amendment is about,” said the actor. “But what was the march about? The march was about — it was against this government and against the president. Trying to denigrate his office and his presidency, and that’s no good.”
Jon Voight claims that some of the straightforward and forthright celebrities are becoming an unsafe and precarious example for their numerous fans.
“When you see the young people, like Shia LaBeouf and Miley Cyrus, they have a lot of a lot of young people that are looking at them, what are they teaching them? They are teaching treason,” warned Jon. “They are teaching going up against the government, not accepting the will of the people on this presidency.”
“It’s a very sad day, really,” he continued. “This Hollywood group, it’s a very sad thing for me to witness what they’re doing. But they have a lot of influence, it’s a huge amount of influence.”

Shia LaBeouf can be seen in a video that was released on the day of Trump’s inauguration confronting a Trump follower.
The video was recorded on a livestream project LeBeouf launched Friday named He Will Not Divide Us. The project includes attaching a camera on a wall located outside New York’s Museum of the Moving Image that will be recording live through the website for the time of Trump’s tenure.
Miley Cyrus an obstinate follower of Hillary Clinton during the presidential race, and, it seems afterward as well, joined the anti-Trump Women’s March in LA on Saturday. Jon Voight was a strong supporter of President Trump even before the election results, and spoke in favor of the President one day before tha inaugural ceremony.
