Mexico Agrees To Negotiate Trumps Border Wall

Trump wins again as Mexico agrees to negotiate payment as part of renegotiating the NAFTA free trade deal!

It was just the other day that Luis Videgaray, the Mexican foreign relations secretary reported earlier this week. “He said Tuesday his country isn’t just willing to negotiate changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement, it wants to start talks as soon as possible,” reported the Associated Press.

Here’s the best part:He also said Mexico is willing to negotiate over Trump’s plan to build a border wall.”

The President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, himself underlined the significance of negotiations during a speech on on Wednesday.

“With the change of government in the United States on 20 January, the instructions for secretary Videgaray is (sic) to accelerate dialogue and contacts so that from the first day the bases for building a constructive work relationship can be established,” said the Mexican President.

Additionally, according to one Washington Post contributor, the president-elect and his cabinet picks were convinced that Videgary’s pick as the foreign relations minister will only help them in the construction of the wall.

“The way Trump team are talking about wall behind the scenes: we can work w/Luis Videgaray, force Congress to get the project started,” posted on Twitter Costa.

Nevertheless, this does not mean that the negotiations will go smoothly.

“We will negotiate with great confidence in ourselves, without fear, knowing how important Mexico is for the United States in economic, social and political terms,” said Videgaray on Monday in his opening comments at the 28th Annual Meeting of Ambassadors and Consuls.

Nonetheless, it was the last thing on liberals’ minds that even Mexico will one day give in and accept negotiations about Trump’s controversial policy.
