A petition has gathered more than 6,000 signatures demanding that New York’s Hunter College kick out a professor whose husband harassed Ivanka Trump on a plane last week. Matthew Lasner and his husband, Dan Goldstein, were removed from the plane when Goldstein started to annoy Ivanka. The petition demands that Lasner deserves to be sacked due to his inappropriate behavior towards Ivanka.

“Matt Lasner’s conduct is a direct representation of Hunter College. We believe his immature and cruel harassment of Ivanka Trump and her family at JFK airport should be met with disciplinary action,” reads the petition.

“The fact that someone who would be involved in such conduct is teaching students is very troubling. We are petitioning that Hunter College take ACTION,” it adds.

The petition goes on to say, “someone like Mr. Lasner, who would harass a mother and her child simply trying to go about their day, does not deserve the honor of teaching.”

“The fact that he tried to cover up and change the story around to avoid the consequences of his actions is also a testament to his character. He is NOT a good example for our youth,” it is stated.

Here’s how Lasner responded to the scandal on Twitter: “My husband expressed his displeasure in a calm tone, JetBlue staff overheard, and they kicked us off the plane.” But, this tweet above disagrees with one previously posted where both Goldstein and Lasner had seen Ivanka and decided to start “chasing them down to harass them.”

Goldstein confronted Ivanka saying, “Your father is ruining the country.” And then adding,  “Why is she on our flight? She should be flying private.” A passenger sitting in front of Ivanka, named Marc Scheff, explained that Ivanka did not ask for Goldstein to be thrown off the jet.

“Goldstein didn’t accost her directly. When he got on and saw her, sitting behind me, he said, ‘Oh my god. This is a nightmare,’ and was visibly shaking. He said, ‘They ruin the country now they ruin our flight!’” he said.

“He did not yell. He was also not what I would describe as calm. Agitated maybe. His husband behind him was very calm,” he further added.

He went on to say that, “when the JetBlue staff went back to speak to the man I overheard Ivanka say to them, ‘I don’t want to make this a thing.’ My assessment is that she was happy to let the man take his seat. Security made a different call.”

A different passenger had said that Ivanka avoided the confrontation and tried to grasp her children’s attention with some crayons. Goldstein and Lasner were removed off the flight while the plane was still boarding passengers.
