Is NBC News misleading the things lately? Well, they tweeted President-elect’s chief of staff partially to make people think that the administration is having the doors wide open for the Muslim registry.
As Western Journalism reports, in the interview with Reince Priebus on NBC News’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd asked him whether he would “rule out a registry for Muslims.”
“Look, I’m not going to rule out anything,” Priebus answered.
But, that wasn’t everything Priebus said. “But we’re not going to have a registry based on religion. But what I think what we’re trying to do is say that there are some people, certainly not all people, Chuck, there are some people that are radicalized. And there are some people that have to be prevented from coming into this country.”
The network tweeted these eight words only. Is it fair? No.
“WH Chief of Staff @Reince ‘not going to rule out anything’ when asked about a possible Muslim registry,” tweeted the network.

NBC News also tweeted the wrong thing.
Reince Priebus on Muslim registry plan: 'I'm not going to rule out anything' https://t.co/YN2EIWJmdd

This was the reason Time magazine released an article titled, “Reince Priebus Says Donald Trump’s Team Won’t ‘Rule Out’ Muslim Registry.”
Mahita Gajanan, the author of the article, managed to give the wrong impression by misleading readers that Trump administration is plannint to institute a Muslim ban.
However, the article is contradictory from the very beginning. “But Priebus also said they’re not planning to create a Muslim registry,” before adding, “Reince Priebus, soon-to-be-White House Chief of Staff, said Donald Trump’s team is not planning to establish a Muslim registry.”
The New York Daily News also released an article on the issue. “Reince Priebus declines to ‘rule out’ Muslim registry” is the title they gave the article, which is also full of contradictions. “Incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said Sunday President-elect Donald Trump is not planning to create a Muslim registry — but declined to rule anything out.” That’s how the article starts.
But, America smelled NBC News’s misleading intentions.

The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman and other liberals were shocked by the move NBC made.
This quote is in fact opposite of what PR tweet indicates https://t.co/oCysHiiMgW

Charlie Warzel of BuzzFeed also opponed the dishonesty NBC News spread.
this = an irresponsible half-quote w/o even a link for context full quote continues "We're not going to have a registry based on a religion" https://t.co/tllX68Jobs

We’re still waiting for NBC News to add that people can read more about the interview, cause this is absolutely unfair!
